Silky smooth and incredibly rich, homemade macadamia nut butter is a real treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups roasted macadamia nuts (unsalted)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Method
- Roast (if not pre-roasted): Spread macadamias on a baking tray and roast at 160°C for 10–12 minutes.
- Blend: Process for 8–12 minutes, scraping down sides regularly, until smooth and flowing.
- Season: Add salt, coconut oil, sweetener, and vanilla. Process briefly.
- Store: Transfer to a clean glass jar. Room temperature for 2 weeks or refrigerate for a month.
Tips
- Be patient during blending — the natural oils take time to release.
- For a chunky version, stir in roughly chopped nuts at the end.
- Try adding a tablespoon of cocoa powder for a chocolate macadamia spread.
